#The Parish Profiles of St Margaret's and Streat & Westmeston have been prepared individually, as, at the time of writing, the parishes do not constitute a United Benefice. However, since Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston will, in the near future, become a United Benefice, any candidate for the Incumbency will need to consider each Parish's separate characteristics, perceived priorities and preferences. It should be noted that the unification of the Parishes has been under consideration for a number of years and it is, therefore, not going to be a shock to the respective congregations. Also the Churchwardens of the Parishes have met collectively on a number of occasions, specifically to discuss various aspects and implications of becoming a United Benefice. The Churchwardens of Ditchling, Streat and Westmeston look for an Incumbent who will rise to the challenge of merging three Churches, not just nominally but in the true Spirit of Christian Unity. The Incumbent will, we pray, build on the strengths of our Parishes to create a Benefice truly United to the Glory of God. Note that the profile for Streat & Westmeston will be available later.
